On this semester’s hiking trip we will take you to Bärenschützklamm. It is one of Austria’s most famous rocky ravines and was declared a natural monument in 1978. The rough terrain alongside the roaring waterfalls offers a unique and impressive scenery. As you ascend through the ravine, you will get a feeling for the raw power of the water that has been digging through solid rock for centuries.

After conquering the Bärenschützklamm, we will stop for lunch at a mountain refuge. There you will have the (once in a lifetime) opportunity to try the most famous Austrian dish – SCHWEINSBRATEN (roast pork)! Of course there will also be a delicious vegetarian option for those who prefer the more animal friendly Austrian style cuisine (lunch is included in the event price). Afterwards, there will be some time to rest your feet and enjoy the breathtaking view.

Well rested and ready for action we will start our descent to the train station. BUT WAIT! For those of you who are still motivated and fit enough to take on a further challenge, there will be the possibility to hike up the Hochlantsch. With its astounding height of 1.720m, the Hochlantsch is the highest peak in the area of Graz. If you opt for this you will eventually have to take a later train back to the city.
